The Ekurhuleni Water Care Company (ERWAT) has achieved a major milestone after securing six of the fourteen national Green Drop Awards, further earning recognition for three of the best-performing wastewater treatment systems in South Africa. This prestigious achievement highlights ERWAT’s continued commitment to safeguarding public health, protecting water resources, and delivering sustainable wastewater management services.
The awards were announced by the Minister of Water and Sanitation during the release of the National Green Drop Report on 31 March 2026, reaffirming ERWAT’s position as a leader in wastewater excellence.
