An opportunity exists within ERWATs Commercial Business Department for In-service Trainees to participate in ERWAT’s In-service Training Programme on a 18-month contract basis, working within the Commercial Business Industrial effluent sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must fulfil the following requirements:
• Must have completed all theoretical modules required for a National diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• Have not taken part in a formal Internship/Experiential learning programme.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Have excellent communication and written skills.
• Be able to stand for long hours and be physically fit.
• Good time management / organising skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
The appointment of candidates is at the sole discretion of ERWAT, taking into account factors considered relevant, including but not limited to the companies Employment Equity Policy and Strategy.

Content of the Job: Perform daily tasks of cleaning and plant environment and offices, requesting relevant supplies to ensure ongoing availability, and preparation of identified areas.
Key Responsibilities: Keep across units and surrounding areas clean from objects, algae, slime and litter to ensure safe and continuous operation within set performance standards, hygienic and aesthetically acceptable conditions. Plan and arrange leave and time/off in consultation with team leader and co-workers to ensure sustainable flow of work. Observe all
safety rules, procedures, signs and instructions to prevent incidents related to health and safety. Ensure compliance to the occupational Health and safety Act (Act 85 of 1993).
Key Knowledge and Skills: Basic Knowledge on relevant in-house management systems procedures. Cleaning. Health and Safety procedures.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 8- 12
• No operational experience required.

PROCESS CONTROLLER – C BAND
Contract Position from 01 March 2024 to 28 February 2025
R31 141.53 Basic Salary Per Month

Based at Heineken Beverages WWTP
Purpose of the Job: Responsible for the 24-hour operation of wastewater treatment plants or treatment modules to ensure discharge of effluent and disposal of sludge according to License conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all solutions of chemicals are handled safely according to standard operating procedures and that the dosing are performed efficiently and cost effectively in accordance with compliance and performance of all modules/plants. ∙Assist with controlling variable costs through optimization and efficient operation of all modules. Ensure
recording and reporting of levels and/or mass of bulk chemicals such as ferric chloride, Polyelectrolyte and chlorine. Assist with training of subordinates and in-service trainees and graduates. Enforce compliance with OHS Act and applicable Regulations, ERWAT safety rules, procedures, signs and instructions to prevent incidents of health and safety.
Key Knowledge and Skills: Wastewater purification. Relevant Legislation. Financial Principles.
Requirements
• Wastewater Treatment NQF 4 and 8 years’ experience of which 2 years is at Grade B4
• National Diploma, National Technical Diploma, NTC VI or BSc Degree (all in appropriate field) and 2 years’ experience at Grade B4 (excluding in-service training)
• No managerial experience required
